چکیده

Background/Aim: This in-vitro study evaluated the apical-sealing ability of MTA, MTA+10% CaCl2, Biodentine™ and RMGIC when used as retrograde material. Material Methods: A total 80 single-rooted bovine incisors were decoronated, instrumented, divided into 4 groups according to material, follows: Group 1: MTA (ProRoot Dentsply); 2: Dentsply) + 10% CaCl2; 3: Biodentine (Biodentine®, Septodont); 4: (Nova Glass - LC, Imicryl). Root surfaces isolated with nail Polish, teeth immersed in 2% methylene blue dye at 37°C for 48 h. The extent penetration (mm) was measured under a stereomicroscope. Results: had highest mean-rank score (MP=49.05), followed by (MP=43.65), (35.95) MTA+CaCl2 (MP=33.35). results paired comparison tests found mean microleakage value CaCl2 (Group 3) be significantly lower than that (respectively; p=0,020, p=0,019). No significant difference other group comparisons (p> 0.05). Conclusions: These suggest addition an accelerator may reduce following endodontic surgery. can alternative on obturation.

Cytotoxicity and Initial Biocompatibility of Endodontic Biomaterials (MTA and Biodentine™) Used as Root-End Filling Materials

Objective. The aim of this study was to evaluate the cytotoxicity and cellular adhesion of Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) and Biodentine (BD) on periodontal ligament fibroblasts (PDL). Methods. PDL cells were obtained from nonerupted third molars and cultured; MTS cellular profusion test was carried out in two groups: MTA and BD, with respective controls at different time periods. Also, the L...

A Comparative Investigation of Marginal Adaptation and Surface Defects of MTA and Root MTA as Two Root End Filling Materials

Introduction: This study was carried out to compare two retrograde filling materials entitled mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and Root MTA (RMTA) in regard to their marginal adaptation and surface defects. Method: In this study twenty extracted human teeth were used. In all teeth after cleaning and shaping, the root canals were obturated by gutta-percha and root canal sealer. After that in eac...

Sealing ability of MTA, Super EBA, Vitremer and amalgam as root-end filling materials.

This study evaluated the root-end sealing ability of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA Angelus), reinforced zinc oxide-eugenol cement (Super EBA), resin-modified glass ionomer (Vitremer) and zinc-free amalgam (GS-80) (control). The root canals of eighty human lower molars were accessed, cleansed, shaped and obturated. Apexes were resected and cavities were prepared. Teeth were divided into 4 grou...

In-vitro Sealing Ability of Calcium Enriched Mixture Cement Versus Amalgam as Retrograde Filling Materials

Introduction: Sealing ability of a retrograde filling material is an important factor for a successful endodontic apicoectomy. The purpose of this in-vitro study was to compare the sealing ability of calcium enriched mixture (CEM) cement versus amalgam as root-end filling materials. Methods: A total of 36 canals of extracted maxillary central incisors were instrumented and obturated using later...
